Hi, I am Jasmin Torres, LMHC
I am passionate about helping people navigate their life journey and find clarity. Overall, my hope is to help you understand the present problem, and support you as we identify hidden cues from your past to understand the here and now of your mental health barriers, in order to live a fulfilled life.
I am an advocate to help clients feel secure in who God created them to be, by identifying their purpose and thriving in it fully.
I am specifically focused on exploring how events beginning in your mother’s womb have impacted your life.
I’ve supported clients from all ages and backgrounds, helping them feel seen and heard in their desert place. I have experience in helping others find meaning in their despair in order to enjoy the fullness of the life God intended for them to have.
You may be at the lowest stage of your life, but you are welcomed at The Oasis. I don’t see your paralysis, I see you thriving in your freedom.
How My Passion Developed:
Growing up in a Christian Pastoral household, I witnessed my parents lead their church with the love of God. My childhood impacted my career choice and I also feel the calling to do the same.
My parents informed me of how God told them about me, while I was in my mother’s womb. While studying psychology in college, I took a course called Prenatal Psychology. This course confirmed to me how impactful the womb life experience is on our life. I believe that my parents’ knowledge of what God said about me, shaped who I am today.
I clearly want others to identify their womb experience and how it has impacted their life.
I decided to pursue the mental health degree in order to have the opportunity to help people find their purpose, redefine irrational thoughts, and increase self-confidence, which may have been negatively impacted from their childhood and life experiences.
I hope to walk beside women who desire to be pregnant and are pregnant. Just like my parents were intentional about prenatal care,
I would love to encourage the next generation in their most sensitive and exciting developmental stage, their mother’s womb.
Growing up in a pastoral home, I had a first row seat on the heaviness and responsibility that leading a large group of people entails, while also navigating through personal life circumstances.
I saw how important it was to prioritize one’s holistic health, in order to be a healthy impact to the people God entrusted my parents to lead.
I want to walk beside the everyday leader, to support them in creating a safe space where they can be vulnerable and accepting of their humanity.
I am no exception.
Through my personal and professional experiences, I’ve been impacted by anxiety and depression. I’ve learned throughout the years that experiences of anxiety and depression are truly a human response, and not a sinful condemnation. I’ve learned that the heaviness of anxiety and depression is a beautiful opportunity to open oneself to change and healing which only comes from Jesus Christ.
How I Help Others:
I believe what the word of God speaks about the importance of confession. Talking about your story to the right people, in the correct space and time can set you up for a lifetime of freedom.
I want to encourage people to see the beauty in the most challenging times of their life.
It is my calling to impart the reality of purpose given by God, and dismantle the lies planted by discouraging life experiences.
